📚 Children's Book Week at PM SHRI Kendriya

At PM SHRI
Kendriya Vidyalaya No.1, Arakkonam, the week of April 17–25, 2025,
was transformed into a vibrant celebration of reading and creativity. Under the
guidance of the school's dedicated staff, students embarked on a journey that
blended imagination with learning. Here's a glimpse into the activities that
made this week unforgettable.
🗓️ Day 1: DEAR – Drop Everything and Read

The week kicked
off with the DEAR (Drop Everything and Read) initiative, encouraging
students to pause and immerse themselves in the world of books. With teachers
assisting, students of all ages found themselves lost in stories, fostering a
love for reading from the very start.
🎨 Day 2: Book Cover Design Competition
(19/04/2025)
Creativity took
center stage as students designed book covers for their favorite stories. This
competition not only showcased their artistic talents but also deepened their
connection with the books they cherish. The event was a testament to the
students' imagination and enthusiasm.
📚 Day 3: Pustakopahar – Book Exchange Program
(22/04/2025)
In a
heartwarming display of community spirit, students participated in Pustakopahar,
a book exchange program. They brought in books they had outgrown and exchanged
them for new ones, promoting sustainability and the joy of sharing knowledge. The
initiative was a resounding success, thanks to meticulous planning.
📎 Day 4: Bookmark Design Competition (23/04/2025)
The following
day, students engaged in designing bookmarks, adding a personal touch to their
reading materials. This activity not only honed their artistic skills but also
encouraged them to reflect on their favorite books and characters, making each
bookmark a unique piece of art.
🎤 Day 5: Virtual Storytelling (24/04/2025)
Embracing
technology, the school hosted a virtual storytelling session. Students
narrated tales with flair, enhancing their public speaking and pronunciation

teachers ensuring its smooth execution.
📖 Day 6: Book Exhibition (25/04/2025)
The week
culminated in a Book Exhibition, where students explored a diverse
